Concord-NorthWood 2-1 (0-0)

Not the usual Saturday at Concord. No power at the beginning of the game, a field that was much too wet and the net barely attached to the -old- goals.

A first half that was controlled for the most part by Concord but ended in 0-0 (with some great saves by Kyle that kept us in the game). But a second half with the Panthers taking it to the Minutemen most of the time. A well played game and especially second half were it not for a couple of man marking miscues. Now, most of the time a couple of mistakes per game is pretty good, but today it cost a couple of goals (scored by Stubbs and Wysong, the usual suspects). We managed to come back on a Connor Beckwith goal (free kick, nice to score off of a set piece)to close the gap to 2-1 but that was it. A lot of players and spectators thought the referee (who seemed to have a bit of an off day) withheld the Panthers a penalty kick when Taylor Wegmiller got fouled in the box deep into the second half but the way he was calling the game, it would have been a surprise to get what we had coming. All in all, it's becoming obvious that we are working as a team and are every bit as good as the competition.
