2-a-days starting August 3rd

Two-a-days start August 3rd and run from 9-11 in the morning and 1-3 in the afternoon. Bring soccer cleats and running shoes. During the first week announcements will be made concerning the fundraiser cards that need picked up Thursday August 6th at the High School (7 pm, I believe).

On August 13th the Red/Black intra squad scrimmage will be played at the game field. This game will give the coaches an idea about the varsity and JV's progress and also gives them the opportunity to check out the field/scoreboard/lights etc.. Preceding the red/black game, the alumni game will be played. At this point it looks like the alumni game will start at 6 pm and the red/black game will start at 7 pm.

The Car Wash fundraiser at LJ Wagner will take place on August the 15th from 10am -
2 pm. All players are required to help out for a 2 hour period (either 10-12 or 12-2).

Injury update #2

Eddie's MCL should heal in 1-5 weeks, hopefully more like 1-3 weeks which would put him back on the field around the first game of the season. Hopefully he will be able to train lightly in the next few weeks to get ready. It looks like Eddie might be joined in the separate light training by his older brother Cesar who is recovering from the ankle injury. That injury is healing quite well and Cesar should be ready for two-a-days although not at 100 percent initially.

Injury update

Eddie Salinas suffered a MCL injury in the first half of the NorthWood - Oldenburg Academy (the "Twisters"!!!!) game. It is unknown how severe the injury is but we hope to find out more later today. Cesar Salinas is still recovering from his ankle injury he received during the NorthWood - Elkhart Central pre-season game last Tuesday. Hopefully both will be ready for the first game of the season. Some other players have minor injuries but should be able to nurse those this week. The expectation is that besides the Salinas brothers, the entire squad should be healthy to start the two-a-days.

Start of the 2009 season - information

Two-a-days will start next Monday, August 3rd. The times for the two practices will be 9-11 & 1-3 (Mon.8/3 - Fri 8/7)at the High School (practice field). Physicals need to be turned in before the first practice in order for players to be able to participate in the practice.
