A win, a loss and a draw sums up FC Groningen's last eight days. A loss last sunday in the Dutch Premier League (Eredievisie), a draw in the UEFA Cup (1-1 vs Italian Fiorentina in a sold out Euroborg on wednesday) and today's win against the worst of the three Rotterdam Premier League teams. At the break the score was tied at 1-1 but the FC pulled away in the second half to 1-3. The win puts the "Pride of the North" in 9th position with seven points after five games played. In the Eredivisie the FC plays at home against another Rotterdam team, the occupants of the Spangen Castle, Sparta, on Saturday night. But before that, The green and whites travel to the amateurs of IJsselmeervogels for a midweek matchup in the KNVB Cup.
