Match Day 13 features #5 Mishawaka Marian vs. # 8 NorthWood

The two highest ranked 2A teams meet up at Marian tonight at 7 pm. The Knights are 8-2 on the season, the Panthers are 7-2-3. The two common opponents the two have played were Warsaw (Marian - Win/ NW - Draw) and Concord (Marian - Win/ NW - Draw). Marian comes off an OT win Tuesday against South Bend Adams but lost the two games before that. The losses came against Plymouth and Valpo, both very good teams and both losses were by one goal (1-2). Players to watch for on the Marian side are #3 Hundt (8 goals in 6 games) and #11 Baughman (5 goals in 10 games). The Knights have scored 33 times in 10 games and have only given up 9 goals (less than 1 a game). The next time these teams could meet again this season would be in Regionals but that of course is if both teams would win their respective Sectionals. Speaking of Sectionals; the draw is Monday night at 8 pm and it is streaming live on ihsaatv.org. The JV game starts at 5 pm and the Varsity game is scheduled for 7 pm. The bus leaves at 4 pm. Again, there is no food on the bus so bring/pack your own!
