Another historic day for NorthWood soccer where the first ever Boys Regional Semi Final will take place at beautiful Wellfield Park. The Panthers (ranked 18th in the Indiana Soccer Coaches association poll and 10th in MaxPreps rankings) face Mishawaka Marian (#4 in the ISCA poll and 1st in MaxPreps rankings) for the second time this season. The first meeting was at Wellfield as well and finished in a 1-2 Marian win. The Knights only loss comes against Warsaw, an opponent who was defeated by the Panthers this season. We will need to keep an eye on the weather to see if it will impact the game or game time. Hopefully we will still be able to welcome a good size crowd to cheer on our boys tonight in what will be their final appearance of the season at Wellfield Park. The winner of tonight's match will travel to Marian on Saturday to play the winner of the Bishop Noll-West Lafayette winner. The Regional winner will play at Kokomo or Chesterton the next week to play the Norwell Regional winner. Mishawaka Marian is 15-1-2 on the season and has scored 81 times and given up 12 goals. #3 Hundt is their leading scorer with 25 goals on the season. The Panthers are 12-5-2 on the season and have scored 54 times and let in 15 goals. Solomon Yegon has 12 goals on the year.
