Bethany Christian - NorthWood 1-0 (0-0)

The JV comes away with a draw to end the season at 6-7-2. The Varsity match is a tight one with the Panthers dominating the first half but not being able to execute in the final third of the field. The defense only allows one shot in half number one. Ten minutes into the second half, Bethany scores and despite numerous attacks and some opportunities, again, the ball does not cross the goal line. A disappointing loss for sure and it is the kind that keeps you up at night. Friday's practice will focus on the changes we need to make in positioning ourselves in order to have more options for the player in possession of the ball. Next up : West Noble in Round 1 of Sectional #20 at Wawasee this coming Monday at 5 pm. Matchday 17 will be previewed on Monday. The regular season for the Panthers is 8-8, quite an improvement over last year's record but not good enough......yet. But everyone is 0-0 today and a new season and new opportunities await us. Today's practice will run til about 5 pm. We have quite a few players with some knocks which is the reason tomorrow's practice has been canceled. Most if not every player, needs a couple of days to recuperate. Our fans have been great this year. We had some of the largest crowds ever at the LaPorte game and on Senior Night and we are hoping for a great turnout again this coming Monday.
