NorthWood @ Glenn 4-0 (3-0)

The team arrived just in time to witness the senior night activities. The national anthem was performed by the North Liberty Girls Choir. Nothing is permanent at Glenn's soccer field however; the goals have wheels as does the scoreboard and the bleachers so I would suggest to drive it all to a real soccer field.

FIRST HALF
The first few minutes were played in a fashion that matched the pitch; rocky and bumpy but the team settled down quickly. A punt from Maliq in the 3rd went to Conner who slipped the ball to Noodle. He played the ball to Ryan who fell but the ball rolled towards Eddie. Eddie took a great solid shot that hit the onion bag hard, 1-0.
In the 10th minute of play, Conner got open with the ball and went one on one wth the goalie but missed to the right.
In the 21st Conner hit a nice shot that hit the crossbar.
In the 29th minute Eddie placed a corner on the ground across the box. Noodle had no problems finishing, 2-0.
In the 30th Cam passed the ball to Trent who applied the dummy and in turn made Kronk look like one when he didn't anticipate the pass and let it go over the sideline while shrieking his usual Kronk Honk. The ball went over the sidelines and endlines more then usual, mainly due to the very short and extremely narrow field.
When the final whistle blew, the Panthers had collected a total of 15 corners, a season record.
In the 37th minute a spectator of the Glenn persuasion started to argue with the AR about a throw in. The Center ref send him off. The man's wife came over to argue the case for her worse half. But apparently she lost her cause and the husband continued his way to the exit.
With seconds left to play in the half, Maliq kicked the ball to Lincoln who took a shot but the shot was blocked by Glenn defenders and recovered by Kronk. Kronk passed it back to Lincoln who hit the net for the 3-0 half time score.

SECOND HALF
Eddie took the first NW corner eight minutes into the half. His low corner went to Conner who connected for the Panthers' 4th unanswered goal.
Minutes later Kronk went for a fifty fifty ball, tried to shield the ball and keep a Glenn midfielder off the ball. While holding the Glenn player's "jersey" everyone could hear the Glenn player howl in agony. When he gave his coach the universal sign for "distress in the crotch area", he was substituted. Soon after Kronk came out and was asked for an explanation. Kronk stated that he tried to hold the guy off by holding his shirt but inadvertently (hopefully) held on to his private part a little too hard and too long resulting in the substitution request. This might have been the most exciting occurence in the second half, at least for some.
After a 62nd minute blatent handball ,Lincoln was still allowed to play on and crushed the ball on the crossbar. Cam added another shot on the lower left post in the last few minutes of the game but all to no avail. The game remained 4-0 and the Panthers had a total of 17 shots on goal. All players -but Cesar- saw the field for a considerable amount of time.
Next up is the NLC matchup with Concord at home this Saturday. The JV kicks off at 10 am, followed by the Varsity at 11:45.
