Central Noble drops NW from schedule
Central Noble has dropped NorthWood from the upcoming soccer schedule. Central Noble was the season opener for NorthWood. Hopefully the Athletic Department will be able to schedule a good opponent early on in the season.

FC Groningen - FC Twente 1-2
The first loss at home this year is not the way the pride of the North wanted to start but tonight's (01/26/11) Cup game at FC Utrecht can make up for that. A lot of FC Groningen players have received some interest from other European teams. The transfer period is still open so the FC might lose some of its best players in the next week or so. Granqvist and Matavz are the names that come up most of the time and at least one of them will probably be gone before too long. The draw for the semi finals of the Dutch KNVB Cup will take place after the conclusion of tonight's game that by the way will be live on veronica.nl (Veronica TV).
U19 loses 7-3
A good first half (3-3)turned into a defensively disorganized game second half. Losing marks and not paying attention to the blind side runs got us into trouble. On top of that, an injury (ankle)for Jordan Graber looked like it might change his status to inactive for a while. The opponent Deportivo Elkhart had two back up teams to replace the starters. A total of 11 players occupied the bench. Next up is a matchup versus the #1 ranked FC Mini Donks on Saturday at 9 pm.

FC Groningen preparing for second half of the season
FC Groningen arrived at Tenerife last Friday. The team is preparing for the second half of the season on the largest of the seven Canary Islands (Spain). The Canary Islands are in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. On january 18, FC Groningen will travel to the amateur side SC Genemuiden for a 5th round KNVB Cup game that was postponed in December due to snow.
Scheduling change for 2011-2012 Season
NorthWood will play in the Argos Tournament on September 10, 2011. We will play two games in the tournament. Since Angola was dropped from the schedule for 2011 we will play 16 regular season games with a chance of being able to add one more game.
U16 loses to Elite Eight
A team made up of mainly Elkhart Memorial and some Concord & Northridge players, defeated us 9-5. We played poorly and did not defend well which started with not defending well as soon as we lost the ball on offense. Hopefully it was because it was the first game after the Holidays and because it was a 11 pm start.
